Photos of The Imperial Opa

Here are some of the photos from practice with The Imperial Opa. I think that these are a little more successful in getting across the idea of the "gypsy family" than the ones I did of Captain Stab Tuggo. I like the interaction and I like that in the last image I caught a moment that wouldn't be seen by the audience at one of their shows. I think I want to keep trying to get those type of images and also some more of the performers in their practice environment. I think what I am struggling with is how to show their environment without it being too busy and dominating in the image. I have tried playing with the depth of field, but I can't seem to get what I am looking for. I'm open to suggestions on how to achieve this as well as any suggestions on what else to be shooting. I feel like I am starting to fall into a photographic rut by getting the same shots. I need new eyes. Any suggestions on artists to look at? Hope yal enjoy the photos and Happy Shooting!

  1. I think I am enjoying the landscape images a bit more, simply because I feel like I am getting more of the environment itself. In some of them the cropping seems a bit awkward where it leaves me wanting to see what else was around.
These images do have me more intrigued and curious about the performers so I would definatly just keep shooting. I would maybe try to keep it in a landscape format and don't crop as much while you are shooting at first and later, if needed, you can crop out what's unnecessary.
